Ekolu is a 17 acre planned  development with 146 units, two swimming pools, four picnic areas with BBQ  gas and charcoal grills and a resident pavilion.  It sits high above the Wailea beaches with  panoramic views of the coast.  The Shops at Wailea feature world class shops  and  restaurants and Wailea Golf Courses meander throughout the area.  There are
a  number of luxury resorts in Wailea offering relaxing spa services, fine dining  and more shopping.  All of this and the beaches are a short 15 minute walk from our home.

The Ekolu Village is a well maintained community with lush gardens and walkways to local shops, dining and golf.  Our unit sits in a very quiet area away from roads and activity.  The Wailea Blue Golf Course is nearby as well as the Wailea Tennis Club.

Wailea offers a variety of great dining but our  favorite dinner is buying the fresh catch of  the day and grilling at home as the sun sets over the expansive ocean views.  But the cook needs a vacation sometimes too and for those times you can't beat the variety of dining options within walking distance.  The Monkey Pod at Wailea Gateway Shops offers the best Mai Tais and Happy Hour.  The Shops at Wailea include Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, Tommy Bahamas and Longhi's as well as casual dining at Paradise Burgers - great onion rings!
